If we weren't all crazy...

I guess that's my new home state, huh? It's still sinking in for me that Mike and I will be packing up to move to Springfield, NJ, over the next 7 weeks. It's such a bittersweet move because I'm so excited about my new position and about all of the opportunities that Mike will have, but I'm devastated to leave everyone here in Virginia and North Carolina. The silver lining is that we'll be closer to Gramps! Our new apartment, while only one bedroom, seems like it will provide nearly as much space as our current one, so that's a plus. I'm also really looking forward to having outdoor space again, even though it's just a small balcony. We get the keys on July 15th, so we'll be packing the UHaul on the 14th and starting our trip that afternoon, with a layover in Pennsylvania where we'll drop off any items that we need Mike's parents to store for us.

Between now and then, we're trying to fit as much fun in as possible with family and friends. This weekend, I'm the program girl at my former coworker's wedding, which promises to be a really fun one. I'm also singing in a mission benefit concert at my church this Sunday--Durufle's Requiem...I haven't decided yet whether or not I actually like it. The following weekend, Mike and I get to celebrate our friends' engagement at a party. And June starts with my cousin Shannon's wedding, in which Kate is the Maid of Honor and I am Mistress of Ceremonies. In July, Mike and I are renting a cabin in TN with friends and hoping we might get to see Dad and Lisa, if there is magically an extra day of leave available.

As soon as we get set up in the new place, the doors are open for anyone who wants to come visit! Bonus--we're only 30 minutes from NYC by train!
